So Many Tragedies

כי גדול כים שברך מי ירפא לך -איכה

Our being shattered is great like the sea - who will heal you. [Eichah]

There is a difference between disasters that happen on earth than those that happen at sea. On earth you can SEE the destruction. Look at what used to be the twin towers after 9/11.

When there is a disaster  at sea - there is no remnant. If a boat capsizes - it just goes underwater and that's the end of it.

The Jews have had so many disasters and tragedies over history, one after the next. We get so immersed in the latest that we forgot the many many that happened in the past. Out brokenness is like what happens at sea.
