Li-zchus refuas Yehuda Amitai ben Avital Nechama bi-toch shear cholei yisrael!

From our "Improve your davening series" :-)

Why the 3 kedushos?

Holy - kadosh, means separate. There are three levels of holiness. In ascending order:

1] An angel - Completely divorced from physicality. An angel is kadosh.

2] A Jew - Involved in this world, composed of not only soul but body as well. Eats, drinks, removes waste, reproduces etc. etc. But at the same time a spiritual being. S/he davens, learns, makes a bracha before eating, guards his/her mouth, eyes and ears. A Jew is kadosh.

3] Hashem - The source of all existence and physical reality. Completely immanent in this world. But at the same time completely exalted and separate from all reality and existence. From the place of אין - beyond any יש and perceivable reality. And that is just Hashem as we relate to Him while Hashem Himself is beyond anything we can say.

Three levels of kedusha.
