Darkness

From my archives:

When describing the stifling darkness in Mitzraim the Torah says "There was darkness in all of Egypt [sorta like during the snowstorm in Israel when we lost our electricity. MAJOR blackout in Egypt!]. Nobody saw his friend etc. And all of the Bnei Yisrael had light in their dwellings" [10 22/23].

The holy Chidushei HaRim [grandfather of the Sfas Emes whose Yahrtziet is RIGHT NOW!] said that the thickest, most impenetrable darkness is when "nobody can see his friend", when people are blind to the suffering of others. Light is when we are Bnei Yisrael, when we act as brothers and sisters and display care and concern for each other.

Open your eyes sweet friends!:-) There are people around you who are in need. Financially, emotionally, religiously etc. etc. If you want to have light in your own life - open your hearts, wallets and give of your time:-).

There is no greater darkness than being focused on oneself.....

KEEP WARM PRECIOUS FRIENDS!!!!:-)
